Individuals who eat faster than others tend to weigh more than those who eat slowly. Studies conducted in several test groups have indicated that how fast one eats their food has a direct bearing on how much they weigh. Also, the slower one eats, the more time is given for their gut to release hormones which send messages to the brain about being full and satisfied at/during a meal.

Studies have also been shown that the speed of not only eating, but also chewing one’s food also directly relates to fullness and weight gain, not to mention the caloric intake at meals. Slowing down your speed in chewing and eating food also allows you to enjoy your meal, increased digestion and absorption of nutrients, improves dental health, helps you feel calmer and helps you control stress levels better, which could help you lose weight.
